Assessment Consultation

Regardless of the reason that brings you to us, this is a very special moment, where we have the pleasure of getting to know your story (clinical, personal, emotional, and whatever else you wish to share with us). The more information we have, the more and better we can help.
Each of us is unique; every smile, every face, every personality, every life has its own individual needs.
Here, it is important to understand all these aspects so that we can develop a fully personalized treatment plan.
The mouth is our main gateway to what nourishes us and the main outlet for what we want to communicate to others.
Our approach to dentistry does not view or treat teeth and the stomatognathic system as an independent organ, but rather as an integral and essential part of each patient, with all the inherent constraints.
Each mouth we treat is part of an individual with a unique physical, mental, and emotional profile who lives their life in a lifestyle conditioned by external agents and the challenges of the present moment.
All these factors are taken into account in our approach to dentistry.
This consultation usually lasts 90 minutes, during which radiological examinations, photographs, and videos are taken, as well as a scan of the mouth and teeth using an intraoral scanner so that we can explore your current condition together.

These examinations serve to better show and explain to you the particularities of your initial situation, both aesthetically and functionally. And so that you can study and plan your case in the best way possible.

Oral hygiene
Professional dental hygiene is performed using an ultrasonic device, dental blasting with products that remove extrinsic stains, and polishing pastes, which leave the tooth surface more uniform.
This consultation should be performed periodically on all individuals, even when there are no complaints.
The purpose of this consultation is to:

-
Diagnose situations that could cause problems in the future, before clinical symptoms appear.
-
Check whether your tooth brushing is effective.
-
Personalize oral hygiene recommendations for home care, according to your needs and lifestyle.
-
Remove tartar and plaque (accumulated dirt that cannot be removed at home).
-
Leave your teeth clean, whiter, and more uniform.
-
Leave your gums healthy.

*Depending on the situation, it may be performed under local anesthesia.

Treatment of cavities

Tooth decay is the most prevalent infectious intraoral disease in the population. It is caused by the action of pathological bacteria in the oral cavity, leading to tooth destruction. In advanced stages, it is usually painful, but not all cavities cause pain. They can be detected early before causing major tooth destruction, gum inflammation, and other more serious conditions that lead to longer and more expensive treatments.
Ideally, cavities should be diagnosed early, through clinical and radiographic evaluation or even through patient complaints (which are sometimes non-existent).
The earlier a cavity is treated, the simpler, faster, and easier the treatment will be.
* Depending on the degree of tooth destruction, additional procedures may be necessary.

Direct aesthetic restorations

Restoring the aesthetics and natural appearance of anterior teeth with aesthetic restorations requires careful assessment using magnification equipment, as well as in-depth knowledge of dental anatomy and advanced layering techniques. It also involves the use of specific composite resins with varying degrees of opacity and translucency, which allow all the details that make up a natural tooth to be mimicked.

Partial aesthetic restorations

This is an artistic work performed directly by the dentist in the mouth during a consultation of varying duration (from 90 minutes), depending on the extent and number of teeth involved. This also includes the adhesion of tooth fragments.

Bonding of dental fragments

When possible, in situations of dental fracture, it is possible to reattach the dental fragment, avoiding artificial reconstruction of the teeth.

Composite resin veneers

This artistic work is a sculpture performed directly in the mouth on fractured or decayed teeth. It allows reversible changes to be made to the shape, size, and color of the teeth, using advanced layering techniques and high-quality composite resins of various opacities. This is a highly conservative treatment that often serves as an alternative to ceramic veneers, as it is more affordable. It has some limitations and specific indications.

Ceramic Veneers

This is a premium treatment using extremely thin, highly aesthetic and resistant ceramic pieces, fully customized in shape, color, translucency, macro and microtexture, made from high-quality ceramic with an extremely high capacity to reproduce the natural details of teeth.
A highly conservative treatment that allows us to change the shape, color, and size of the teeth, giving the smile a healthier, more uniform, youthful, and beautiful appearance.
A change in the shape and size of the teeth is never just that... it is much more than a mere technical job.
Indirect aesthetic restorations

The treatment and reconstruction of posterior teeth that are decayed or fractured in more than 75% of their length, with maximum aesthetics and safety, should be done using partial ceramic, resin, or hybrid materials, made in a laboratory. This includes inlays, overlays, and onlays.

Replacement of old crowns – replacement of old ceramic, metal, or gold crowns for aesthetic reasons, maladjustment, fracture, wear, or gum inflammation with new, highly aesthetic, resistant, and imperceptible ceramic crowns.
Bridges – in situations where, for whatever reason, it is not possible or desirable to place implants, we can resort to a conservative suspended alternative that allows the adjacent teeth to be used as pillars for a new tooth that is suspended, thus avoiding more invasive surgeries and procedures.
Oral Rehabilitation on Implants
Implantology is the dental specialty that allows lost teeth to be replaced. It allows us to replace missing or non-viable teeth by placing implants.
Rehabilitation on implants can be total when it involves the entire arch or partial when there are still natural teeth to be maintained in the arch.
In single teeth, the procedure always involves two phases:

-
Surgical phase – tooth extraction and placement of an implant.
-
Prosthetic phase – placement of a ceramic crown.

In cosmetic cases, whether total or involving several teeth, there are a number of procedures associated with these two phases.
To perform one or more implants, a prior evaluation consultation is always necessary so that we can outline the best treatment plan for your case.
Your assessment is individual, each case is unique, so it is not possible to extrapolate plans or values from the treatment plans of other patients, friends, or family members.

In cases of total rehabilitation, there are two options:
-
Fixed Prosthesis
-
Semi-fixed Prosthesis – implant-retained
-
Each with specific indications and contraindications.

Removal of white spots

There are often white spots on teeth in visible areas. Some people like them, while others dream of removing them!
These spots are intrinsic to the tooth and cannot be removed with oral hygiene. They can have several causes, the most common being dental fluorosis (excessive fluoride during tooth formation).
We offer an innovative and highly conservative method for removing these white spots.
The treatment usually involves only one appointment and consists of microabrasion in the stained area and subsequent infiltration of a colorless resin, which fills the empty spaces in the mineral network that forms the teeth, causing these white spots to disappear and leaving the tooth uniform.

Treatment of Bruxism

Bruxism is a non-physiological habit that is very prevalent in our society. It consists of a benign form of stress relief that leads to excessive development of the masticatory muscles, progressive tooth wear, and muscle contractures in the face, which may or may not be accompanied by jaw pain, a feeling of jaw fatigue, headaches upon waking, and a feeling of grinding the teeth.
There are several factors, both inside and outside the oral cavity, that can lead to these problems, such as jaw pain and facial contractures. During this consultation, we will analyze your history and perform a clinical examination to determine the cause, origin, and type of bruxism, as well as the differential diagnosis of other conditions that also lead to tooth wear.
The treatment for each patient is personalized and takes into account the cause and habits of the patient.
Most frequent treatments:
-
Manufacture of a relaxation splint (allows the muscles to relax during periods of increased stress and protects the teeth from future wear)
-
Application of muscle relaxants to contracted muscles (botulinum toxin)
-
Aesthetic and functional rehabilitation through the replacement of lost teeth and volume or orthodontic treatment.

Teeth whitening

Lightening the color of teeth using chemical whitening agents that protect the tooth structure.
